Display Name: Just Hunter
Profile Photo: Pic
Notes: cw: car accident; he's gonna get hit by a car but be ok
[Hunter was hoping not to be here this long. After being brought here and taking some time to deal with...emotional stuff, and poking around at the technology, he was hoping to see a portal randomly open up and his friends pouring through it, saying "We finally found you!" But so far, they haven't shown up and he doesn't know how long it'll be until he finds his way back to him. Time to try to get to know people here.]
[He knows how to livestream. He hasn't done it much, other than maybe livestreaming Flapjack being adorable to the flyer derby team. He couldn't exactly run around the castle filming himself. But this time he films himself.]
[To human eyes, he likely looks mostly human. Facial scars like this aren't particularly common on teenagers, but it's not that unusual and his other features are pretty typical. But his eyes are a magenta color humans would need costume contacts for, and his ears are long and pointy. He doesn't bother hiding them.]
[He looks tired, thanks to the perpetual bags under his eyes. That's what happens when your job has one day off a year, and then even when you quit, you have to dramatically fight to save the world.]
[He's not sure how to introduce himself.]
Uh. Hi. I'm Hunter? Wait, that's not a question. Why am I saying it like it's a question?
[Realizing he probably should've kept that bit of doubt non-verbal, he raises his chin to try to look more dignified. It's strange, transitioning from being an authority figure - the right hand of the ultimate authority in his world - to...just himself.]
[(Who is himself anyway?)]
[When he says it again there is just a touch of loftiness to it, like he's someone used to previously doing a lot of dramatic entrances.]
My name's Hunter. I'm a witch, from a place called the Boiling Isles. [There are a few chirps. He points the camera subtly to the right to reveal a bird, a cardinal just chilling on his shoulder.] And this is Flapjack.
[He directs the camera back at his face.]
This isn't my first time in the human realm but I didn't get to spend much time in the other version of it I was stuck in before I was brought here. This seems like... a different version.
So, I guess, until I can get back to that version, I want to learn about this place. [He lights up a little bit.]I've heard stories about the Human realm since I was little, but they were from someone who originally came to the Demon Realm centuries ago.
[He points his phone camera up at the buildings. The camera angle makes it look like he might be straying a liiiittle too far into the street.]
So, my first question: hooow do they make buildings so big? We have magic back home and we don't even -
[There is a sudden screech of tires and the phone goes flying as Hunter takes a dive. The bird fortunately doesn't take a dive with him, instinctually taking to the air. The phone lands so it's resting against the tire of a nearby car, still recording. He can be seen face down in the street and starts pushing himself up with a groan, the bird twittering in a panic as it dives down to him and flutters around cheeping at him in distress.]
I'm fine. I'm fine.
[He's a little banged up but he mostly just got sideswiped and knocked down so it's mostly some scrapes and a buttload of bruises. His hip will be black and blue and purple for a while if he doesn't get healing from somewhere, but nothing's broken.]
[The car is a cab, which can be seen slowing briefly, as if the driver is checking through the rear view to see if he's alive. When he starts moving...the cab starts to move again.]
They're just leaving?! Hey! Get back here, human!
[Even in his world, which is a little more rough and tumble, hit and runs (with carts, mind you, not cars) aren't exactly kosher, especially to someone like him, who used to maintain law and order. He hasn't entirely lost the guard mindset he had in the past and it's not lost on him that if they're willing to just drive off (!!!) they might do this to someone else.]
[So even though he straight up just got hit by a car, he can be seen running after the car in an incredibly efficient-looking sprint, like the goddamn T-1000, and jumping on the trunk and then on the roof like a spider monkey. He pounds on the roof furiously to get the driver to stop. This, of course, just freaks the cabbie out and they go faster, forcing Hunter to fall off during a sudden turn. This time he's ready for it, though, and he tucks and rolls, popping out of the roll to his feet at the end.][The adrenaline haze doesn't last forever, though, and he's limping slightly by the time he makes his way back. The bird lands on his shoulder and preens his hair with anxious concern. With one hand, he pets the bird comfortingly, and the other picks up his lost phone. When his face comes back into closer view, a small scrape is visible on his chin.]
Who does that?! Drives a cart...thing, whatever it is, that fast through a town street?!
[Someone's clearly from a society that's has infinitely more walkable infrastructure. Streets have markets! People walk on them!]
