Hi. Soo.. I was thinking. [ a beat. ] Oh. Wait, uh, I'm Billy, by the way, for those of you that don't know me. I'm a witch, which-- [ heh. ] --is sort of what this is about? .. Right. [ wow, embarrassing. this is why he doesn't do public speaking. ]

Anyway, I was thinking about magic-- [ jazz hands. ] --and people that do magic here. Specifically those of us that, uh, came out of one of the Confluences? Though I guess if there are natives here that want to get in on this, that's probably fine, I don't know. Loki mentioned-- [ another beat. ] My Loki-- [ no. ] Young Avengers Loki? [ ugh. ] .. Whatever, a Loki mentioned magic club, and I don't know how serious he was.. [ leaning back and peering off-camera like he's expecting loki to pop up in the doorway (entirely possible). ] .. but I think it's a good idea?

[ he glances back at the camera again. ] Personally-speaking, it's nice to have other people to bounce ideas off of, test spells with, learn from.. that kind of thing. And who knows, maybe we could figure this Confluence thing out and get the hell out of here, though I'm not holding my breath yet.

[ a pause, and he rolls his eyes at himself, blowing a breath out. ] Which is all to say that if you have magic, are magic, come from a magic world and have a pretty strong understanding of it, or you're just really interested in magic and want to learn or.. whatever.. let's get brunch? What do you guys think?

[ he hesitates, then starts to sign off, then pauses. ] Also, I guess at some point in the future, possibly not even all that distant future, I probably have to create at least one new reality, maybe more? So if you have experience with that kind of thing, I'd really like to talk to you.

[ you're fucking welcome, little loki. ]

Seriously, the last time 'magic club' had a meeting, I ended up raiding Loki's fridge to make you all a charcuterie board.

it would be nice to have more around. i've haven't spent much time around many mutants for obvious reasons. [ obvious reasons including his parentage and power-set, which has historically made lots of mutants nervous. ]

that was an emergency, it was different.

Give it a chance, try and talk to people. See if Jean is free I guess.

yeah, apparently. sure would be nice for people not to automatically assume the worst, though.

that's not the plan??? personally, i'd like to get together just to learn from one another, experiment, things like that. we shouldn't just be around to fix emergencies.

And I'd be what, catering and referee on arguments? One point to the sorcerer, one point to the god?

I can't learn magic. There is something you need to do magic that I just lack.

i don't need to have been part of the mutant community to understand what it's like to be hated for something i can't help, or to be relieved to find a safe place.

maybe, but you can learn theory.
look, if you really don't want to do it, i won't make you, but i really think you'd be a great contributor.

It's not that. It's the years they've been in worlds like this. The people they've become. The lives they've lived. That's something else entirely. It's like being told one day you'll wake up and never remember the people you love.

If you believe that of me, okay. But I'm not touching magical artifacts.

what does that have to do with not assuming the worst of me?

i'm not asking you to. in fact, i'd prefer no one touch magical artifacts if they don't have experience with them. i don't even touch magical artifacts if i can avoid it.

They don't fear you because of who you are. They fear the potential of a goal gone wrong. Even if they would benefit if it went right.

You've been around many other than Teddy's sword?

i'm not sure how much i believe that.

i don't have to have been around a bunch to know better than to fuck around and find out.
