[ the video opens to billy perched on his bed in what is decidedly not the hotel. he's dressed, unsurprisingly, in black, though when he reaches up to push a few curls back from his face, his nails are red. (gotta rep he and his mom's color.) ]

Hi. Soo.. I was thinking. [ a beat. ] Oh. Wait, uh, I'm Billy, by the way, for those of you that don't know me. I'm a witch, which-- [ heh. ] --is sort of what this is about? .. Right. [ wow, embarrassing. this is why he doesn't do public speaking. ]

Anyway, I was thinking about magic-- [ jazz hands. ] --and people that do magic here. Specifically those of us that, uh, came out of one of the Confluences? Though I guess if there are natives here that want to get in on this, that's probably fine, I don't know. Loki mentioned-- [ another beat. ] My Loki-- [ no. ] Young Avengers Loki? [ ugh. ] .. Whatever, a Loki mentioned magic club, and I don't know how serious he was.. [ leaning back and peering off-camera like he's expecting loki to pop up in the doorway (entirely possible). ] .. but I think it's a good idea?

[ he glances back at the camera again. ] Personally-speaking, it's nice to have other people to bounce ideas off of, test spells with, learn from.. that kind of thing. And who knows, maybe we could figure this Confluence thing out and get the hell out of here, though I'm not holding my breath yet.

[ a pause, and he rolls his eyes at himself, blowing a breath out. ] Which is all to say that if you have magic, are magic, come from a magic world and have a pretty strong understanding of it, or you're just really interested in magic and want to learn or.. whatever.. let's get brunch? What do you guys think?

[ he hesitates, then starts to sign off, then pauses. ] Also, I guess at some point in the future, possibly not even all that distant future, I probably have to create at least one new reality, maybe more? So if you have experience with that kind of thing, I'd really like to talk to you.

Yyyyyyyes. I-- Yes. I did. It's a long story.

Um. Can I- I mean, I have time, so like. Am I allowed to ask... why? Why you need to create... at least one new reality?

[ uuuggghhhh.. ] Well, we can talk about the one. A little bit. I guess. [ he rubs his face. ] .. Okay, so a friend of mine comes from an alternate dimension, right? And I guess it turns out that in the future I.. create her reality..? It's all pretty timey-wimey and paradoxical, but I don't want to say no, you know? If future-me doesn't do it, she'll never exist, and that's. Awful.

[Well, that sounds like a perfectly reasonable reason. Right? Right. Totally.]

Wait, so does that mean-- You're saying you don't know how to do that right now. But in the future you do, so- so would that mean that you being here and learning how to do that is supposed to happen in order to bring your friend into existence? So her befriending you is essentially what brought her into being??

Breakfast meats! And mimosas! Are mimosas good?

I don't think you're allowed to have mimosas, technically. [ not that that's ever stopped any of them before, and he's not sure the minimal alcohol would even affect a godling, but he should probably say it. ] But yeah, mimosas are great. I'm also a personal fan of a good bloody mary.

[says the kid who would in fact immediately spit out any alcohol because it's gross]

I assume my invitation to these brunches is already secured?

[ From the kitchen, down the hallway, comes a call: ]

Did you just say you were handing out new realities?

[ immediately, defensively: ] No!

.... Not yet, at least.

It's a pretty big technically, though.

[ a crooked smile. ] Assuming we wind up doing brunch. It was just a suggestion.

Your Loki will agree with me that I'm not a child. Although he wouldn't let me try beer either...

Why would we want to do anything other than brunch? I'll accept breakfast too, of course, but definitely not dinner meetings.

[ Sounds of vegetables being chopped. ]

Don't do that. I will be the Mean Guy in your broadcast if needs be!

I'm not just handing them out!

[ he scoops up the phone and trots into the kitchen, setting it down on the island and then seating himself on a stool. then he folds his arms over the countertop and drops his face down into them with a groan. ]

I'm just.. trying to learn more about it. And trying to figure out little Loki's death-thing. It's a lot.

[ Loki has an iPad open on a very basic What Is Kosher? page and in the middle of reading, glancing at it and Billy in-between adding vegetables to a stew for the evening. ]

I've a feeling he will figure something out himself and come to you for help when he needs it. Do you want a freshly skinned carrot to nibble on?

[ Soaking wet from the sink, held out to him. ]

That's possibly the most horrible way you can describe a carrot I've heard recently, but yes. [ he lifts his head and reaches to take the carrot, catching sight of the ipad a moment later. he blinks, then going a little pink, flattered in spite of himself. he doesn't mind cooking for himself--he doesn't expect other people to cater to his dietary requirements--but it's.. really nice that loki wants to.

he takes a bite of the carrot and chews slowly, eyes rolling up to the ceiling in thought. ]

I just don't want him to think I've forgotten. It was a big aspect of our argument when he was demony, and I don't want him to think I consider him unimportant or-- or not worth my time and effort, you know?

[ he crunches the rest of the carrot and rests his chin in his palm. ] Anyway, it's not immediately applicable, but I'd still like to hear from anyone else who's been in a similar position. [ re: crafting brand new realities. is it hoping for too much? ] How do you even learn something like that? I mean, you can't just copy-paste the one you're in, can you?

[Oof. Okay, he deserved that dry tone.]

Yeah, you did. Sooooo I guess that's just kind of how magic works, isn't it?

[ If he can payroll a cafe to always have halal food on offer for Kamala in a pinch, should she be running late for superheroing or anything else, he figures he can learn how to feed the man he. Likes. In his own home. To do otherwise would assuredly be lame, also there's the old tradition of making sure your guest is comfortable and Loki thinks starvation might put a pin in that for Billy. ]

I appreciate your attention to detail with him, he deserves a happy and interesting life somewhere. Taking him home to Earth-616 will not work, I fear, as he is of our past and Lokis do not move backwards. Change is good.

You can, actually. Adam Warlock copied zillions of souls with the help of the last team I was a part of, and together they duplicated our reality for a new set of Avengers. The Infinity Stones that I saved from Gamora's faux-reality within the Soul Stone did the job.

[ Eyeing that despondent carrot-chomping, he shoots him a smile. ]

You could have just asked.

You're not a child, but you're still technically thirteen. [ he thinks. ] Ish.

[ he rolls a shoulder in a shrug. ] Who knows? Maybe someone will be like breakfast for dinner, or witching-hour snacks, or high tea.

I'm fifteen when I go to school.

[Only to safely avoid having to go to middle school.]

Breakfast for dinner is fine, the others I'll see about. BTW, I've altered reality before the demon thing, IDK if you knew the exacts. Fully created a living person and also gave my uncle a weakness for goth girls.

No judgement on you personally, but, wow, all of this sounds like potential Big Trouble. Capital B, capital T.

I mean, a "magic club" probably has its uses, particularly if part of the point's to keep track of each other, but I've yet to see a new reality that ended well for those involved.

Whether it's big trouble or not, it's already happened, so I might as well learn how to do it safely.
