Notes: Connected to demon pact plot here! Also if it isn't obvious, he's lying
[Technically speaking, this is a form of Loki who hasn't appeared yet. For those who know the 616 Loki, they might recognize it as his previous form. Since for the most part, it is! After all, it's the form of a grown up Kid Loki. Speaking of Kid Loki...]
I've something to share with you all that I believe will be of great interest.
[he grins as he continues his little monologue]
It's possible to leave this place. I would know, being the first one to do so.
I understand if you doubt me, as I am the Prince of Lies. But let my appearance prove that I speak the truth. I was here before, in my youth, and I am here before you now.
Enough about me, though, I do hate talking about myself at great length. Plus, everyone wants to know how, yes? So I'll shut up and get to the point.
If you hear a voice whispering in the back of your mind, let it in. Let it speak its piece. If you do, it will grant you escape.
That's all!

-> action
[True to his word, he's there very soon because he can teleport now. He waves when he sees David, seemingly not at all worried. No guilt.]
Do I have to take all my clothes off? Or will just the cloak suffice? Because honestly, that seems like a bit much for a first date. Not to mention the fact I have an extremely scary girlfriend.
no subject
No, I'll be able to do this without that. And I don't want the cloak. I want your sleeve. Cloaks come and go and can be traded among people. You're a Loki, all of you wear clothing that seems like it was made just for you.
[Extremely scary girlfriend? No, David doesn't buy that either.]
Who are you dating?
no subject
[He takes off his cloak regardless, as to make the sleeve easier to reach when he holds out his arm.
His clothes only remember the story they were told. They came into existence when he and Leah took older forms upon gaining more power. And then they were here. It's not the truth or a lie, just a story that's missing chapters.]

He almost misses it, actually, the first gap. His shields were still strong, trying to keep him from feeling it all. It was like feeling a small rock under his shoe. With that David opened his defenses completely, prayed Loki didn't touch him, and shunted away the feed from his own clothing before delving in deeper.
Holes. No, this is a Loki. It's more like a book missing parts. And not pages torn out. Blank ones, peppered through it all. He finds them everywhere. The clothes don't even know how old they are.
That realization has David jerking his hand back as if burned.]
Have you ever heard of a French author named Georges Duhamel?
no subject
Surprisingly, being reincarnated in France did not give me a knowledge of all things French.
no subject
[And David recites it, in the original French of course. Loki should have the All-Speech, so language was no barrier.]
Do not trust your memory; it is a net full of holes; the most beautiful prizes slip through it.
[But he doubted Loki would believe it.]
Let's get into the questions. How is mutantkind doing?
no subject
How would I know? I'm not often involved in Midgardian affairs.
no subject
Mister super fan of the X-Men and friend of the New Mutants doesn't keep tabs on our endangered species? Bullshit.
[What next? He could pry into Billy he supposed. If Loki had been in a world where Ikol had never killed him, David would never have been one of their number. But... some things had been in motion before they had met.]
Has the Watcher recovered from the Siege on his home?
[Trick questions are fair game, aren't they?]
no subject
I lied about being friends with the New Mutants. And yes, I was a fanboy as a child, but I have other things to concern myself with now.
Can't you ask useful questions? Like about Asgard or Thor?
no subject
You can make things up about Asgard and Thor. But Asgardian lives are more than bound enough to the fate of Earth that you should know the major things going on.
Tell me of Billy Kaplan's life.
[If there was one fate that was likely unavoidable, it was Billy's. Being the Demiurge probably just like that.]
no subject
[SIGH!!!!]
We're of different timelines, David.
no subject
What is the state of Asgard?
no subject
You don't think I'm Ikol, do you?
no subject
[No, he doesn't think this is Ikol. He thinks this is something worse than that. He thinks this is the Loki That Was. The Old Man as the other two sometimes call him.]

[Because it sounds like this Loki reaped all the benefits.]

Together we tricked Surtur, but a good amount of damage had already been done. Hela aimed to finish the job. This time Leah and I retrieved the fear crown from Nightmare and others, and with its power, we managed to overthrow Hela. With Leah on the throne, she ceased to exist.
Then there was Heven, once it was reunited with the World Tree. Leah and I convinced them there was point in fighting, with their enemy already defeated. Thus there was peace in Asgard for all time.
no subject
[Well, that had made David's mind up.]
To answer your earlier question, no, I don't think you're Ikol.

[David stood up, and the look on David's face was an actually sad one.]
You are Loki Laufeyson, The Lie-Smith, manifest in the flesh he intended to take hold of, and with a clean slate. But you are what you always schemed to be. Seems that you didn't need to use Ikol to come into your resurgence of power. Just to convince a child to listen to a voice whispering in the back of his mind. And you even managed to see your brother dead and Asgard fallen, as you would have wanted. Power is yours, and Midgard better fall in line lest our mortal skulls make your throne.
You are not the child I knew, not in any future he would have worked. He was mischief, yes, but he was good in a way no other Loki ever could be. He was a hero. He was my friend. And I swore to be his ally. Even against the corruption of himself. I swear by your own name that I will restore him.
[And with that, he turned to walk right out. He was absolutely turned off his lunch.]
no subject
[he yells after him, before teleporting in front of David to prevent him from leaving.]
If you consider yourself my friend, you should understand. I have wanted to kill Thor since the moment he brought me back to Asgard. And I did, twice. That was by my design, not the old man's, not Ikol's.
no subject
You don't want to kill Thor, you love him. You love your brother. Which is how I'm even more certain that there is more of the Old Man in you than there is of the kid you claim to have been.
[And then he moves around Loki, continuing toward the door.]
no subject
[Aaaand Loki's crying. As he sniffles and wipes away his tears, he does seem much younger than before. Embarrassed, he teleports back to Sunset Falls.]
