[ really, he knows jason can take care of himself. damian is fairly confident that his brother doesn't need anyone to give the shovel talk, but he's not going to deny himself the fun.

he's stretched out on kyle's couch, casually sharpening a sword. ]

Rayner. [ a long drag of the whetstone along the blade. ] Your security sucks.

[ rayner. kyle blinks, nonplussed. he should have expected appearances like this once the news broke. ]

I mean. I'm technically the security.

[batricide]

And that's why you lanterns die so easily.

[ this, unlike the sharpening sword, is not a threat. it's said as a matter of fact. ]

[torchbearer]

[ now that is an unusual remark and kyle frowns lightly. lanterns don't die easily, barring extreme circumstances. ]

[ that and tim's reaction makes him wonder. there have been times when the lanterns were gone. and things have always gone south when they are absent. ]

[batricide]

To you, Gardener, and Stewart. Hal was the last one from Earth.

[ he clicks his tongue. ]

Get better security. [ he raises an eyebrow. ] Now, can you put the pieces together and figure out who I am and why I'm here?

[ poor hal. his expression softens for a moment. there's nothing more lonely than being the last lantern. ]

Security for what? Myself? The only people who break are Bat-people.

And I'm guessing you're Damian? Here to . . . pass on a warning?

[ this is a wild position to be in. even alan scott never gave him this talk. ]

Both my mother and grandfather are prone to breaking in and brutalizing the unsuspecting. I have a sister that is particularly unhinged who wouldn't mind stabbing some people I care about.

[ he raises the sword, pointing it at the lantern. ]

And likewise, I'm not above lopping off a few body parts if you put my brother in harm's way. Capiche?

Let me see if I'm following this correctly. You're threatening me because you think that I would put Jason Todd in harm's way.

I think you're both equal parts idiot and reckless. But my brother gets especially stupid when it comes to people he cares about.

[ he certainly is and kyle's ego isn't bruised, but he is curious. he hasn't done much since he got here and other than one or two people, no one really knows him at all. ]

I thought you said I was dead. How much do you know about me anyway?

[batricide]

[ he sheaths his sword. ]

[ dryly. ]

[ it tracks though. ]

[ he should know hes not The Worst at least. ]

[ that makes him chuckle lightly. ]

I just thought you should know the pecking order. It could change at any moment.

[ he can't help but smile at that. ]

[ damian sighs through his nose. like it should be obvious what he was after. ]

Just what Superman has told the League. He had a hand in the destruction of Krypton, he shrunk one of the cities.

Superman . . . doesn't really like to talk about him much.

[ yeah, that's about what he'd gleaned from the data. Damian frowns.

He's attacking my world. Once things are straightened up here, I intend to take a strike team back home to deal with him once and for all.
