( nothing special about this set-up outside of venom in full form napping like a baby on the couch behind him. )

So, things have been a little heated between the metas and the non-metas from the sounds of it. For good reason. Powers are really dangerous, and it kind of seems like everywhere we go, worlds literally seem to fall apart...

...Which isn't great.

People are, like, disappearing into other dimensions. I don't know what the fuck that's about, and hell if I know how to fix it.

But... I think it could be worth trying to fix things with the people who're afraid of us... Or hate us, but those ones might take a little more work to get through.

I don't see why we can't do this Coyote Ugly style and hold a Date-A-Meta Auction? Y'know, spend a day with a local so they get to see we aren't so bad?

Or each other, if you want.

Bid on whoever.

Plus all the proceeds would go to restoration projects to get the cities back in order. So it's a win-win.

Not everyone wants to be reduced to an inspirational aphorism. You really think that guy falling down the mountainside in the old Wide World of Sports intro appreciated their fame?

Wow, deep cut. Sports journalism isn't usually my thing. But, if I remember right, that guy didn't even know he was famous.

I know when I mess up in a giant scale-y spectacle-y way I try to find all the upside. Even if it's "now everyone gets to feel better about themselves in comparison."

I don't have to worry about that. Everyone knows cats don't make mistakes unless it's someone else's fault.

For your sake, I hope that's exaggeration. You humans can rack up a pretty good body count, even with your limitations.

Some of my relatives would say I'm the monster, but that sitch is usually temporary.

Our parent is known for actually biting people's heads off, and he's one of the good guys. The rest of the family is definitely worse. Although I think Eddie's managed to not eat anyone in this world, and back home, well, they usually had it coming.

Venom is the Lethal Protector. But they're still one of the good guys. Or two. Depending on how you look at it. Venom definitely doesn't like leaving Eddie much. They're a good match.

[A pause, with some slight movements of ears and tail as Sleeper considers that fact.]

Sometimes I wonder what it might be like to have someone like that. Oh, well, that's a completely different thing.
