( nothing special about this set-up outside of venom in full form napping like a baby on the couch behind him. )

So, things have been a little heated between the metas and the non-metas from the sounds of it. For good reason. Powers are really dangerous, and it kind of seems like everywhere we go, worlds literally seem to fall apart...

...Which isn't great.

People are, like, disappearing into other dimensions. I don't know what the fuck that's about, and hell if I know how to fix it.

But... I think it could be worth trying to fix things with the people who're afraid of us... Or hate us, but those ones might take a little more work to get through.

I don't see why we can't do this Coyote Ugly style and hold a Date-A-Meta Auction? Y'know, spend a day with a local so they get to see we aren't so bad?

Or each other, if you want.

Bid on whoever.

Plus all the proceeds would go to restoration projects to get the cities back in order. So it's a win-win.

Any volunteers?

Nothing effective. Prof X had a whole super-team and school designed to be the shiny public face of mutantkind and do good deeds, fighting "bad" mutants to make us look like The Good Ones, like we'd have to prove ourselves just to live peacefully.

We finally broke off to be our own nation, to function in our own space. I don't know too much about that, though. I was murdered at sixteen right after surviving a mass decimation event.

But, sure, "powers are really dangerous" and people hate us "for good reason." Please.

I think you might want to examine the shitty relationship that you have with having superpowers.

Like, sorry, that's not me being an asshole. I've been there. My own powers are tricky, and I'm not the most self-affirmed mutant or anything, but... Having our own nation isn't about quarantining ourselves so much as thriving on our own terms. That's my understanding, at least; I guess I'm not there to directly quote the talking points.

Anyway, I don't know. There's no appeasing them. It's just hurting yourself when you act like it's your fault.

Council, I think. You'd be better off asking someone who's ACTUALLY been there. Like Prodigy. I'm dead, remember?

Anyway... Getting into the differences between "meta" here and "mutant" where I'm from is, like, a WHOLE THING. There are parallels, though. And there are plenty of mutants with potentially destructive or morally ambiguous powers. (I'm in the latter category. Hi.) We still don't deserve to be ostracized from society at large for it.
