Hey so.

Considering we come from different worlds, but we're kind of expected to fit into superhero or supervillain . . . kind of curious to see where some of us stand?

I am unsure that is better or worse than assuming this was a joke meant to see if others would react and declare themselves otherwise for the sake of ego.

But the responses are entertaining.

I just thought it'd be funny since y'know, we all have to think about it here. But internet quizzes are just time pass. You talk and you forget about it.

[ and yeah, ripley had an ulterior motive and he does regard internet quizzes with some amount of believability, but even he wouldn't hinge everything on it. ]

Similar to basic quizzes in those gossip mags, then, and probably just as popular despite the lack of substance.

But if most of us are "normal," would that bode well or ill for the state of things?

Well.

I'm kinda of seeing it as good??

Maybe we're just more alike than we realize!

Or it's proof of how ill-suited we are to be thrust into the position of heroes. Average, simple people shouldn't be shouldered with such expectations.

Yet here we are.

I'm definitely not hero-ing up or anything.

Are you planning on it?

Oh no. Certainly not.

But they do create quite the pressure to pick one of their little clubs if we want to maintain any stable quality of life.

I mean. Jobs are still a thing.

. . . Maybe we should invent Craiglist.

Minimum wage does not pay the bills it once did. Inflation is a menace, so I've found.

Was that your last job?

More that I have credentials that don't transfer without proper certifications based on this country's economics and tax laws. I'd much rather not have to return to school.

Unfortunately, humans are also more discriminatory in their hiring practices here.

That makes sense. I hadn't thought about it. My old job functions fine anywhere. And my powers are the same.

It took me two months to get used to the currency exchange rates for adjusting costs in my own mind. Stocks and investments will take a bit longer.

Inconvenient, but at least we use the same currency labels.

[ ripley had never thought of that. he's not selfish, but he can be a bit narrow minded. the paranoia does that. ]

Oh, uhm, sorry. I didn't know. I can try to help? Not like I'm an expert but I'm a person. Who has . . . lived on Earth?

It's all right. I've caught up to the way things work here, mostly. Just not with the official certification necessary for my typical career.

I have managed. They always say adaptability is one of the most important job skills.

But I wouldn't turn down more insight into the unique traits of Earth.

Yeah. I can pass on stuff. Any stuff. I think.

Would you say this world is typical of what you know of Earth? Superheroes and the like being common?

[exasperation]

It is for mine. A lot of the superheroes get a lot of government or corporate deals that sponsor their work. I don't even think you can become a superhero without having one of those. Everyone is registered in some way.

And they've always been around, as far as I know.

Fascinating.

And humans are the majority there as they are here? I'm used to the standard coexisting, but the fact this place seems to lack any other Sentience is rather bemusing.

[exasperation]

On Earth? Yeah, everyone was human. We didn't have like. aliens or magical people.

I'm not sure what you mean by aliens. Undocumented people? Beings from another planet like in science fiction novels?

I'd never met an the latter version of aliens, although I supposed I am now one myself.

[exasperation]

Sorry, I meant extra terrestrials. Not immigrants.

Only humans. No magic. So your Earth and this are both rather simple it would seem. Besides superheroes. That's rather intriguing.

I don't know if I'd call it simple, just not . . . unique?
