Granted, he was the only one we had in my world, but he's a good kid.

must be a swell guy. it's probably rlly tough being the only hero.

[They never talked about it. But Otto knows what he did, and in retrospect it's pretty clear why the kid was actually struggling in his classes.]
I remember he almost quit once. But of course it didn't last - next time some madman started throwing cars around, he showed right back up. [Otto kidnapping and threatening his girlfriend directly in front of him probably played a role, but we don't gotta talk about that!]

The papers call it cowardice, but I think it's just common sense. Does your world have people who don't?
no subject
u said he quit
if he wanted he could've never come back and no1 would know
but he did
which says all u need 2 know rly
anyway yeah a few heroes r public w/everything. esp if they're aliens or from the future or smth.

It was a hard time to come back, too. He had to deal with a lot.
[The train thing was really sort of extreme.]
That's interesting.
Even Spider-Man's enemies usually managed to keep their identities secret - not that he had a great many of them.
Our world was much smaller than a lot of others, in that regard.

in metropolis it was the opposite btw
every1 knows luthor, the bad guy
but no1 knew who supes was, out of office so 2 speak
no subject
I do know things got weirder.
But we didn't have much opportunity to chat.
This Luthor's been active for a while?
no subject
he was here before superman
i mean not HERE here but u kno
where i'm from

I'm surprised, though. Spider-Man's enemies never seem to last that long.
Not that he kills them - he doesn't. But I guess it's just a dangerous game to play.
[Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!]

u can get away w/a lot that way even in metropolis
no subject
Yes, that does help.
[Didn't much help Norman, but the Goblin didn't seem to be one for practical tactics like "hide behind all of your money." Otto doesn't really want to get into that, though.]
Well, enough about him - who's your local hero?

His power is being super?
no subject
he has super hearing, x-ray vision, super speed, super strength, super breath
oh and he can fly
he's just super!!
[ It's a little on the nose, though. Even Jimmy would admit. ]
no subject
I see your point.
[Geez, how does one guy even get all of that?]
no subject
and he hates that
so plots 2 defeat superman and take over the world ensue

[imagine becoming a supervillain bc you've got a weird superiority complex lol]
It definitely was strange, to learn that real superheroes existed, but there's always any number of people who are better than you at any number of things. It's foolish to pretend otherwise.
Though I suppose a man like that rarely has his ego challenged.
[ not here, just snoopin' ]
