Greetings, citizens of Meta, particularly those in Sunset Falls.

We have issues with the wards of late. Please do not panic. I am seeing to it though it is a time consuming process and I would need to elicit some divine help to maintain them.

[ in the past, loki would have given up parts of himself to maintain his power. without a second thought. after all, cutting himself up poses no real hardship or maintain. he likes his independence but no one hates loki more than loki.

now, though. he won't be doing that. ]

Please be patient and rest assured, it will be dealt with.

[ now he grins, a little mischief in his eyes. with a wave of his hair, some fireworks go off in the office. ]

In other news, I am now formally engaged. I'm afraid you'll have to wait for wedding plans, but they will be coming.

Honestly, it all depends on the vibe of the couple, and how large the wedding is going to be. Whether you want something small and intimate or loud and brassy, or some combination of any of those elements.

[And don't marry into the mob. But she doesn't think that's an issue Loki is going to have.]

I suppose it would stay small, but I would like a level of extravagance. Tastefully so, of course. With a certain aesthetic.

Oooh, so kind of like one of those special events that only a select few are invited to, but with a certain flair that makes those who are uninvited jealous.

Exactly. We don't have a large guest list, but this is an important event for us.

Largest hurdle is usually the venue. Not sure if it's the same here, but most are booked out months in advance so if there's a particular spot you want, you'll want to nail that down. But once you know what the space is going to look like, then you can get into the more specific details like colors and staging the space and all the other smaller things.

What is a registry.

Oh, wow. It didn’t occur to me that wouldn’t be a cultural thing for Asgardians. Maybe not even in Sephiroth’s world. Okay, the answer is that at least here in the US there is this whole idea that the couple to be wed should have input on what sorts of gifts they would welcome for starting their new lives.

So you sign up at places you’re interested in, choose items you want, and share this registry with your guests. They can then buy an item and it gets quietly checked off the list so there’s not doubles that you didn’t already want.

And people can still buy what they want to buy as well, but it serves as guidance.

Yeah, more or less. It's an assumption that you would put in things you want for yourselves as a couple, but in a variety of prices and even places. It can even be set up so the gifts are wrapped, labeled, and sent to you so that no one has to worry over bringing things to the venue.

Humanity, we've increased the level of ease of sentiment so we don't have to work as hard. But the value is really that you don't get the same blender like seven times.

That's part of the reason for it too. It's assumed, in the past, that couples wouldn't be living together before and need to establish a home. Which is silly of course in the modern day.
