Literally! Well, as close as you can get without the Earth being engulfed in burning plasma. That would be bad.

I'm Amaterasu. Normally I'd have an envoy for this sort of thing, but he's not here so we'll have to make due. Probably for the best, he can be something of an acquired taste.

Yes, the sun drifting too close would be... quite bad. But welcome none the less! This place is certainly strange, but many of the other Starfallen are helpful.

[Technically, it would be more adjusting the rotation of the Earth than moving the Sun. But mentioning that would just be pedantic, wouldn't it?]

You did, yes. But with all respect, anyone can tell the authorities whatever name they would like to be registered under. Using a codename from a divine source is seen as gauche if only because the native gods remain... involved in these times and might take umbrage.

They tried. I wasn't very interested.

Perhaps they thought if one deity could be convinced, another would be equally amenable. But most Starfallen steer clear of those entanglements altogether, even if it makes things harder.
