i'm looking for a superhero, they left their mask behind in an alleyway and i'm sure they're missing it!! it looks really cool and i swear i've seen it around before??

please help me find it's owner, i'd hate for someone unsavory to get their hands on it :(

[ He made it that way to give Stephen some relief from the regular heroes bothering the sorcerer for help all the time. It's also fun to exclude non-magical folk like Tony, just Because.

Loki is within Jason's line of sight between one blink and the next, abruptly standing on a rooftop across the way without fanfare or sparkle; joy of an invisibility coat and belt (not to mention a lacking Jotun heat signature). He doesn't appear to be watching Jason, instead looking down at the street.

The glow of a phone announces his presence a moment later, more than anything else. ]

where are you?

( thumbs under the edge of the helmet, before jason's cracking his neck to one side and then the other. moves closer to the edge of the building. red hood out in the middle of the day feels weird. but tracking down his other self before he started causing shit at night sounded like the more polite option.

even if it'll make disappearing after leaping off near-impossible. whatever. it's not as if it being dark would prevent anyone up here from being able to follow him regardless. )

John Malone. ( he can't be jason todd here, so he'll just borrow bits of names from dick and bruce. feels appropriate. and as hilarious as matches had been, going in for a repeat performance would be boring. ) Give me a ring later and I'll swing by.

It's not a cave but it's better than paying for a gym membership. D's welcomed to drop by too if he can be at least slightly more normal than during the family dinner.

[Jason then says another address]

Descendant Bar and Lounge. I own the place and a bunch of us work there. It's neutral ground. No guilds involved. It's one of the ways we get intel about some of Central's finest goons.

[As unhappy as Jason is about another version of him being around, it seems better to keep him in the loop about some things. The others seem familiar with the other Jason as well so he doesn't have much of a choice but to take their word for it]

( it's not his first time meeting loki. a very similar loki, too. which is why jason doesn't buy the whole, i'm not seeing you act when he pulls out his phone and sends another message. he feels the phone vibrate in his pocket, but leaves it alone. no need to read it when he's pretty sure he knows what it is regardless.

but he also doesn't step out of the shadows. just puts a hand on his hip and tips his head to the side. clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth. )

You the Loki with a map, or is that one of the other Lokis?

( there were at least three. he knows there's at least these two left, so it stands to reason that it could be any of them. a map is a map, even if a multiversal map sounds like absolute bullshit. )

[ He slides his phone away when the voice comes from behind, a small smirk in place. It would have been fun to play the anon game a little longer! He has nowhere important to be tonight, and this Red Hood looks ... like a Red Hood, admittedly. Any differences are going to be as subtle as the ones between the Lokis, beneath that helmet. ]

( he's bulkier, the hood itself has it's differences close up--but it's getting dark out. an easy thing to miss especially given his batman impersonation attempts of keeping in the shadows. )

They're a gossipy bunch, those birds. ( they're not, but the smarmy lilt to his tone shows jason's just being a shit himself. ) So, what does a multiversal map entail? You got a name for each of 'em?

( jason will leave a trail where he feels it's necessary, and keep himself off the map elsewise. seems only fair: they've put their names out there already, but because they all got here first, jason's also behind and has a lot of catching up to do. )

( it was rayner's pick, but he was still hoping for somewhere a little nondescript. a dark alley. a rooftop. an abandoned old warehouse. the classics. but he did tell rayner to pick, so he's not going to bitch.

instead, he shows up at the coffee shop five minutes late in the usual dark tank, brown leather jacket, all visible toys left elsewhere in favor of being a little more discreet.

and goes to the counter to get himself some coffee, with his nice city-given credit card. he's fairly certain they're tracking purchases, even more sure that it's not a courtesy and more a trap, but who gives a shit if they follow him here. he hasn't carried any of their shit anywhere aside from places he doesn't mind being followed to. )

[ kyle's never been one for alleys and rooftops and he gets why the batpeople are more comfortable with those, but if it came down to him, he's always going to pick a place with coffee. no place will ever be radu's but he owes too much to the coffeeshops of the world to give them up entirely.

he shows up in a brown leather jacket, white shirt and slacks. he raises a hand to jason before coming over. ]

I was almost expecting you in full getup.

( kyle gets his own little wave in response, before jason's grabbing his coffee off the counter when the barista calls out for john. )

I would've, but I've heard I've got a bad rep and a worse attitude. Wouldn't want to scare anyone off, that'd just be rude.

Because you've never been rude.

[ he puts in an order for an expresso before sliding onto his seat, opposite of jason. ]

( gross, are they gonna sit here like they're just pals going out for a nice warm caffeinated beverage? is this what kyle's devious plan is?

but he does slide into his own seat, too. angles himself so he's got his back to the wall. )
