Gotta ask because I wanted to find more sources on this than just what I've been fed. How have people gone about getting costumes for their whole, you know, work here? Any advice? Specialists that can be consulted?

I'm completely at a loss here except for comics from back home, and damn those costumes were not the greatest.

If you're in one of the guilds, they have entire departments for that. Have to fight them off with a ten foot pole to keep your old uniform.

There's eeeeentire divisions. Maybe they let you alone because you joined but aren't active? Never heard of Echo - wait, are you THAT Echo? Avengers Echo?

I could design something. Seems pretty easy.

Sure. There are tons of heroes all around my world.

Ah, someone with experience. That's helpful. You design your own costume?

Think about what you're comfortable wearing, first! I know a lot of costumes lean towards spandex, but that's not everyone's vibe. My advice is to do some sketches and brainstorm a bit, then hit up a couple thrift shops! They can go a really long way.

Spandex is SUPER not my vibe. And I prefer jeans and t-shirts, or maybe business casual. Which isn't very heroic.

So I don't think what I'm comfortable wearing will stand up to Alliance expectations.

Ah yeah, they do have very particular standards. Maybe you could get away with athletic leisure wear? That stuff's usually pretty comfy.

Huh, athletic wear might be pretty practical. And easy to carry around with me. I think I can be down with that.

plus, easy to change into, or wear under regular clothes if that's your thing!

It seems like it's important to brand and brand early?

I guess. If someone's making bank on your looks, it might as well be yourself? I plus-one going to the guild designers-- I had most everything sorted except for the. Actual disguising bit. But they walked through options and I left with something I was happy with.

But if you find someone else, that's great, too!

I'm not really experienced in trying to make a look like this. My world doesn't have active heroes.

Mine neither. And here the locals take it as a matter of course! It's been eye-opening.

But I'd make sure you're very happy with whatever you choose. I hear rebranding again afterwards is a pain.

How young is young? And aren't they useful for hiding what you are, if you're capable of hiding. Which I get you aren't.

Oh god, I don't even want to think about branding, much less rebranding.

Younger than me, or fitter than me. Either one.

You could go into the shadowy vigilante business.
It's still a brand, and still marketable, but you might not get your face slapped on as many things.

I don't know that the Alliance would approve of shadow vigilante.

If you're registered, then it's really just an aesthetic.
Half of them try and do that. Think it makes them look cool.
