So say hypothetically an encounter with a strange Meta you don't know led to you teleporting into the middle of what looks to be a barren wasteland in the middle of what your GPS says is some sort of canyon in Arizona.

And say that hypothetically you aren't equipped to get back to civilization at the moment and the next town is something like an hour and a half walk away.

And hypothetically you don't have water on you or food.

Um, how would you get out of this situation?

Sounds like one of my master's old survival "pop quizzes".

First of all, don't drink cactus juice. It's an urban myth that cacti contain water. They don't, and the juice is likely to give you diarrhea which will make the dehydration much, much worse.

Second, look for water and shade. The latter might be easier to find, but you might be able to find water if you keep an eye out for animal tracks heading downhill to potential waterholes or plants with large green leaves. You'll likely have to dig a little for the water. Do not blindly enter caves. Other animals might be hiding in there.

Wait until it starts to get dark before making a long walk assuming you can't just contact someone to have them pick you up.

Like I said, Master used to give survival pop quizzes where he'd send me to a location and strand me there. Had to use my training to get to safety, wait for rescue, or die trying.
