Hey guys! So, question- sorta.

Why do people have "secret identities" or hide their powers? [ quirks, that's what she wants to call it ] Like, I was told it's better if I can hide among the population, but that sucks, I like being pink.

That isn't really something that happens in my world. The point is that people know you. [ Hero Profession ends up being partially a popularity contest, although Mina also doesn't care much about that ]

Also, who's going to school? I have had a couple of classes and I'm very lost...

[ Mina, on the other hand, hasn't started putting on her hero costume and instead left it on top of her bed for now; it's easy enough to put on, so she can do it at any time (plus, this is her room0. Instead, she is wearing one of her many somewhat questionable fashion choices, including the glasses. She went out a bit before, so she didn't have time to change, but honestly Mina's clothes are usually like this.

When she opens the door for Harleen, Mina's grin is wide as possible and she is obviously super excited about it, hands suddenly rising up high ] Harleen!!

Come in, come in! Snacks will be arriving shortly! [ and without further ado, she reaches for the other girl's hand to pull her inside the room. Which is still very hotel-looking, except for the two pink and purple lava lamps and some hot-pink furry pillows. Her wardrobe is a lot worse, though ]

[ Harleen's own costumes is easy enough to get in and out of, it's just all the makeup and hair that she puts into it that takes her a little time. ]

Your top is cute! [ She gasps, plucking at the sleeve with a big smile. It's absolutely genuine, her own normal fashion sense has been whatever can be bought second hand at a thrift shop. Sometimes there are good finds there, sometimes there isn't. ]

Oh, what'd'ya get? [ She instantly makes herself comfy, dropping into one of the chairs and begins digging out her costume. ]

Ehehe, thank you!! [ at the compliment, Mina spreads out her arms to show off her top, and then gives a small twirl to show off even more. She won't hold on to that, though, quickly moving on and pulling the glasses off ]

I got us two pizzas, and some chips. Also cokes and sprite! [ she hums, tapping her own chin ] I could have gotten more since I have the credit card they gave us, which is very handy.

[ She bobs her head along with the choices listed off. ] Sounds great! Maybe we can order some sweets later.

[ She fluffs up her coat after pulling it from her bag. ] So should I change now or do we wanna wait til after the food gets her?

Yeah, that would be cool! We can just call when we want some more. [ hotel room service is GREAT.

Mina does tap her chin at the question ] Well, whatever you prefer! Imma do it now! [ mostly because she is super excited and wants to show Harleen how she looks ] I designed this suit myself! back home, we give our designs to a teacher and they send it to a company that will make Hero costumes. It's really cool. [ Mina grabs hers ] I wanted it to give away my personality! [ hence the whole acid trip of colors going on ]

[ Hotel room service is honestly one of the most genius things Harley can think of. Any time she has a craving for something she only need call up for it. ]

Alright!

[ She holds her own costume up, a red and black bodysuit. ] I designed and made mine, too. Cut up some old stuff and stitched it all together. Even painted my mask. It was a lot better than what that booger, the Joker, wanted me to wear.

[ She's not sure how much her costume gives away her personality, but she thought it was rather good-looking. Though certainly not made of anything all that protective. ]

I like the colors on yours.

[ Mina watches, amazed. She really loves the suit, clapping as the girl explains it ] it looks awesome-you got an eye for it!

[ and afterwards Mina twirls while holding her suit, while saying "thank you", but eventually she stops: ]

Thanks! I based it on this old harlequin figure that useta belong to my Gran'ma. She collected a buncha clown figures.

[ The question results in Harleen pulling a face, pausing as in process of undressing. ]

Uuuuhg, he's the worst! He's this rich boogery brat named John Kane. He tricked me inta thinkin' he wanted to do good but really he just wanted to hurt people and blow stuff up.

Harlequin...? [ Mina isn't entirely sure what that is, but Harleen mention "clowns" so she kinda gets it. Kinda!!

The boy the other mentions gets a small grossed out face ] That's the worst! You can get caught up in real bad situations because of people like that!

But you managed to stay clear off of it?

They're basically just clowns but like old oooold versions. But it's also like a play on my name, y'know? Harleen Quinzel. Harlequin. Harley Quinn! [ She grins. It's not that clever of a disguise but she likes it. ]

Nope! And glad I didn't or Ivy's family woulda lost their community garden. It's all fine, y'know, I escaped prison and now I'm gonna find the Joker and give him a piece of my mind and bat.

[ A pause as she frowns. ] Well, I woulda if I wasn't here.

[ okay that name is actually really nice, so yeah, it makes sense to Mina.

But when Harleen mentions prison, Mina gasps ] You went to prison?! Because of him?! [ what is this talk of prison?! Plus., she escaped it? Isn't that like... a bad thing to do??? ]

[ It's a very bad thing to do. But she wasn't about to rot in jail for someone else.

Granted, it was really just juvie, but it sounds cooler when she says it was prison. ]

Yup! And cuz he's all rich and stuff he'll probably just get away with all he's done. So someone's gotta give him the proper punishments!

That's not fair at all! How did other people just allow that to happen?! [ mina is clearly frustrated about this, mostly because Harleen can't defend herself about it while she is in this world ]

If that jerk arrives, we gotta tell everyone about him!

Money gets you outta all kinds of trouble. [ She rolls her eye. It's not the first time someone with money got out of trouble while she ended up in trouble. ]

If he arrives I'm gonna knock his block off!

And I will give him a piece of my mind! [ mina pauses after ] I hope he never arrives. ...

What about your parents, can't they help?

I hope he doesn't either. He's terrible. Y'know, he was head of the movie club and he, like, only show movies from old dead farts. [ That is the say, he only showed movies created by white men. Which her friend Ivy thought needed to be changed.

Ah, the subject of her parents. Harleen pauses once more in the process of pulling on her suit and frowns. ] Mama's workin' hard. She's off workin' some cruise ship. And my papa...

[ She trials off with a shrug. ] Who knows where he is.

[ Mina sits on her bed, watching Harleen. She nods a little, understanding the situation ] I'm sorry about your papa. [ she is lucky herself, her parents are good and well, and they are together and love her.

But she is aware that isn't the same with everyone ]

I'm glad you are still with your mama. And hopefully you will be able to clear your name and make her proud!

[amenace]

[ Harleen shrugs and goes back to pulling on her bodysuit. ] It's not like I really knew him so it's whatever.

I'm glad I have her too, even if she's off workin' really hard.

Well - when you go back and you kick that guy's ass and prove you are innocent - you can become like the best super hero and show your mom how great you are!

[ Mina claps her hands excitedly.

In any case, she is already peeling off her clothes to get into her hero suit and show it off to Harleen. She even has a little white mask to cover her face, although her pink skin is still there and it's a dead give away of who she is ]

Yah! [ She grins and makes a fist before going back to doing up her costume. Once the bodysuit is on she pulls on her shoes, a pair of converse knock-offs; one red and one black, and then the fuzzy jacket and mask go on.

Once she's done she holds out her arms. ] Tah-dah! What'd'ya think?

Ohmigosh!! [ Mina bounces a little, pointing at Harleen ][ mina, of course, moves closer because what is personal space even?, and she tries to reach for the fuzzy jjacket ] It looks so cozy too!!

[ Mina herself has some fuzz on her own hero jacket - which was her own design - so naturally she loves Harleen's too ]

[ Harleen does a little turn so Mina can get a good look at her full costume. She doesn't mind the closeness or if Mina decides to feel her fuzzy jacket. ]

It is! It's perfect for the cooler nights in Gotham.

Your costume is super cute! [ Harleen reaches out to play with the fuzzy collar. ] I love the colors, they look great on you!

[ it is so cozy, and Mina continues to pet it, very excited. ] I bet! And it's so colorful! [ she loves the red

and Mina giggles at the compliment burying her nose into the fuzz of her collar ] I love 'em, it's very me! The costume has to show your personality, they say!

[ She pats her own waist after ] But I dunno, I might change it a bit. I dunno if this is will be the final style.

Not nearly as colorful as you. [ She giggles. ]

What do you think you wanna change? [ She thinks the costume is pretty great, but she doesn't know a lot about making costumes. ]

[ mina takes a step back, hand son her hips, thinking ] Hmm... i dunno, I see other people's costumes and they look so cool!

No capes because it'd get in the way... but maybe kneepads or elbow pads! Maybe a cool belt! Or gadgets, to store my acid so I can use it even when I get tired! [ honestly? she is just saying things out loud that sound cool, but has no actual idea how to apply them to her hero clothes ]
