Hey, i just got here and my old phone got a little wet.

Can anyone help me figure out how to pull the photos and stuff off it? maybe the texts too?

Yeah, yikes. Phone sounds more like a water bottle than an actual phone.

There's always the rice thing? Don't ask me how it works, but throwing wet technology into a vat of rice always seems to fix them. At least that's what my ex told me?? It worked when I dropped out iPad into the bathtub.

( most of eddie's videos are rather innocuous. there's videos of him traveling to different parts of the country and trying new foods, videos of him sharing the destruction from the recent attacks in an attempt to help raise funds for city restoration, videos from karaoke nights with venom singing power ballads... )

Been hearing a lot of stories about myself from alternate universes. Most of them aren't good.

Sounds like I REALLY had it out for Spider-Man at one point. Still don't know why.

[ Dylan's hands are shaking as he reads through Eddie's replies. He takes a breath, trying to clear the tightness in his chest as his eyes start to burn with tears. Yeah, that sounds like dad — or at least, who his dad used to be.

It hurts to think about him.

It hurts more to think about how he probably hasn't even noticed Dylan's disappearance yet, while Venom was no doubt in a panic. ]

[ His feelings toward his dad right now are... complicated, but his love for the man hasn't dwindled, and it sucks to see that the worst of his reputation seems to be the surviving narrative. ]

Or worse, what if he doesn't feel obligated and just ignores Dylan the way his own Eddie does while he's hooked up to the pillar for weeks?

No, Dylan can't risk that kind of heartbreak. Not when he's already so homesick. ]

Not for nothing, but even though we have the same name and the same alien best friend living inside of us :D, I don't think that makes us enough of the same person for it to count.

( why is that his first concern? because if his alternate self is anything like his current self is, then hurting people without meaning to is in the cards. )

[ Dylan doesn't want to lie, but he also... isn't ready to tell the truth yet. This Eddie is so... insecure? And in addition to Dylan's own fears, he can't bring himself to throw himself onto Eddie's shoulders as another burden. ]

So there was another symbiote named Carnage that was wreaking havoc, and my friend Normie was one of his targets. Eddie saved us from him.

He's... intense. Determined. I mean once he's decided what the right thing to do is, there's no stopping him.

I really admire that about him.

He's older, too. I don't know how long you've been Venom, but he's been doing it since way before I was born. Those two are... kind of like an old married couple. He and the symbiote.

To be honest, I'm not sure he ever needed to get better. Like, his whole philosophy is using his power to protect the innocent. That's his whole thing, and everything he ever did was in service of that. I think he just... had a lot of bad press.

I don't know what his beef was with Spider-Man. But I think they made up. People have seen them out to lunch together and stuff.

[ "People" being himself, eating fries of Spider-Man's plate while Spidey & his dad kicked an armed robber's ass. ]

Anyway, he's... doing better now. Public opinion's gotten better. He even got invited to be an Avenger! You know as well as I do how huge that is.

[ Because any world with Venom must have the Avengers too, right? ]

Turned it down, though. Talk about a flex.
