Greeting and salutations,

My name is Lyserg Diethel and I have just arrived in this world. I was wondering if any of you would be so kind as to share the year it was in the world you came from? It seems that I've found myself roughly twenty years into the future and I'm curious to know if that's true for anyone else.

Additionally, if any of you have information about the outcome of a global tournament which took place on January 2000? The world history here doesn't align with what I know to be true back home and I need to know who came out the victor.

It has been rather jarring, I won't lie. Cellphones have grown so powerful. It's hard to believe they're the same device that I'm used to.

No, it's much less fun than that. It's a combat tournament.

Oh yeah, even in the past few years they improved a lot. I mean...I wasn't really there for five of those years but that's...

That's not the point! Anyways! Tech moved pretty fast. I can't imagine how different it is when it's like twenty years.

Combat. Like, um. Martial arts?

Not quiet. It's... a little difficult to explain. It's disciplined but largely improvised and influenced by personal style and background.

It is a little overwhelming. The TV in the hotel room is flat. And the computers are so much more powerful. The graphics in video games look so realistic. And I'm sure medical technology has developed in ways I can't even imagine.

Were you competing in that competition? Is that why you wanna know how it ends?

Oh, man, that's a trip. I can't imagine how confusing some of it might be. But, um, flat TVs give a lot better picture, right? So that's cool.
