I'm one of the new meta-arrivals, Pinky! Nice to meet you all!! [ Mina spreads out her arms and winks, however, she eventually pulls down her white mask before she shakes her head a little ] Name's Mina Ashido.

Ehehe, I figured I should try using this thing. I know a bunch of us are new like I am, so I wanna meet everyone. I came from Tokyo in Japan, my world has superpowers - [ quirks. But nobody seems to be familiar with that term ] - and a superhero society and all that. I'm studying to be a Hero myself at U.A.! [ not that... anyone knows what that is ] I'm going to school here now, instead, though I don't think I will be able to pass any of those classes... [ she mutters that last part, before she grins wide again. NO MATTER! ]

I wanna help this place out, so I guess I will be joining the Guardian Alliance. Plus I dun' wanna be without money. [ she is a kid and never had a job, a normal job is also not what she wants either. So to her, it was a no-brainer]

Anyway, let's all be friends!! [ she waves one last time at the camera before the video is cut off ]

Whoa, you had a school for superhero stuff where you're from? That's amazing! While we're here, if you're having trouble with the regular kind of school subjects like math or science, I might be able to help you out. I'm pretty strong in those areas.

Yeah! It was suuuper hard to get into, though. [ she laughs a bit. Mina had to cram so hard the summer before the entrance exams, it was really hard.

But the offer is one she will immediately take]

Woah, really?! Can you help me, then?! Everything is so hard and confusing...!

[ She looks...pretty out there to Peter, who isn't used to people just looking like this every day like nbd??? Okay, fine, don't be weird, roll with it. ]

What powers do you have?

[ Is this a normal thing to ask people? She was pretty open about it, so it seems like he's Allowed. Navigating this is so strange. ]

Uh...yeah, I can try. Maybe not with everything, but the science and the math stuff I definitely got you.

I can make acid from my skin. [ she bounces a little in her seat ] It's pretty cool - what about you? [ everyone who got here has powers, right? So he has one for sure.

But she nods quick, excited ] Ah, thank you, thank you! I will work hard, I promise! And... I guess if you want, I can teach you the stuff I've been learning at hero School? If you want.

Acid? Like the kind that burns through things? Whoa. Is that all the time, or you can control it? I mean, can you touch people without it hurting them? It seems like it would get lonely otherwise.

[ Oh, right, there it is. He hates this part, the whole having to lie thing, but he knew it would come up. At least he rehearsed some of this type of questions in the mirror like a totally normal person. ]

I actually...am not entirely sure. I think it has something to do with computers but I haven't totally figured it out yet. It's not something I could do at home, so...I guess that's what I'm supposed to learn in school. At least I didn't have something go wild and cause a lotta problems. Yet?

[ He laughs, nervously. He hopes whatever the computers thing is doesn't have the potential to do that like some terrible old 80s movie Skynet thing but he won't discount that possibility. ]

So I dunno that I'll be much in the hero department or anything like that, but I'd still be interested in knowing what you learned back in your world.

Yeah! I can also control the corrosiveness and the viscosity, so I can make the stuff that doesn't burn. [ she grins while tugging at one of her horns] But your power sounds cool too! Controlling tech isn't very common.

But even if what I know isn't specific to it, it could still be helpful anyway. So we can work together!

Whoa. That's pretty intense. Did it take you awhile to learn to have control over it like that?

[ It took him awhile to get the hang of his spider powers, but he can't just out with that. Actually, Mina looks kind of insect-y herself, but he can't say that either. Sigh! Maybe he can talk to her another time as Spider-Man.

Maybe he should have had this conversation as Spider-Man. Whoops. ]

It's not? I...guess I don't know what's common and what's not. Where I'm from, I guess superpowered people aren't terribly common in general. They exist and everything, but it's not anywhere near as common as it seems to be here.

[ More common recently, and he has a feeling it's more common than even he realised, even on Earth. What a headache to think about it now. ]

I'm happy to work together. You never know what you can learn. And I guess if I'm gonna have some kind of superpower, the hero school stuff might come in handy in the end either way, haha.

Oh, no. Not really. [ Mina is what most would call a "natural". She's one of the best in her class in terms of technique because controlling her power comes extremely easy to her.

And then when it comes to intelligence... well, oops? ]

Hm-hm, that makes sense. But technology only started to get really developed recently, so a tech quirk is also "recent." [ that is one of the things she learned at Hero school ]

Oh, and I learned about a school here too for metas... Sky High? But you gotta have a guild to be part of it, I think. [ she actually doesn't know for sure. ]

Huh, I guess that tracks. If there wasn't tech to talk to, no one would have developed the power to talk to it. Powers evolving alongside the technology makes sense, but I wonder how and why it works the way it does. I mean, how would genes know computers did or didn't exist, y'know?

Uh...sorry, I'm just kinda thinkin' out loud on that.

Anyway. Are you gonna join that guild thing? I don't think they'd really want someone like me, since I'm just nobody or whatever, but that Atomight guy seemed pretty serious about everyone joining up.

[ In fact he was pretty serious, but Peter does still have that secret identity thing to maintain so he's still gotta play this card this way. ]

Yeah, exactly! Unless you consider the wheel "tech" but it's super weird to talk to wheels, right? [ she laughs, waving her hand ] But I'd say it's like we evolve with the world around us, kinda like that. In my world, some people think meta abilities or quirks appeared because of a virus that altered our genes.

[ a pause, mostly for herself. Mina blinks for a second ] I couldn't answer that in a test, but look at me now ehehe-- [ she sounds so proud of herself, too ]

But yeah, I'm gonna join! I wanna help people. And even if you don't have an offensive power, you can always help with defense. Tech quirks are pretty helpful with that.

[ He can't help but laugh. ]

Man, imagine some dude just sitting there having a whole conversation with a wheel. That would have to be pretty boring!

[ He listens to the rest of what she says, surprised to hear it. ]

A virus, really? That's wild. I wonder how the science behind that works. You guys have different abilities, but it started with a virus? I don't really know a lot about virology but I guess if it triggered some kind of mutation enough generations ago that must be it...I'm really just guessing, though. There's a lot about how these kind of meta abilities work that people don't seem to understand, I think. Like this confluence thing, here, how does that work to give people abilities? I have absolutely no idea!

[ But he finds it both fascinating and exciting. ]

I hadn't really thought about that defence thing. I really have no idea how to use this tech power effectively yet. Guess that's what I'm still learning.

[ He feels a little bad because he is hiding a whole power set from her here, but he's not lying about not knowing how to use the tech thing. ]

Yeah- I don't understand very well, but in my world people couldn't just get abilities like that. It's super weird. [ plus she heard some people have magic?? What's that about, anyway? ] And who does the confluences, anyway...?

[ she finds it less fascinating mostly because she doesn't really understand it ]

And well!! if you want, we can train together! I don't know lots about tech quirks, but if it's just training it should be fine! [ mina, no. ]
