RUE MOORE HAS IT.
Hey, Metacuties. Let's talk.
[ this is a very different episode of RUE MOORE HAS IT. there's no flashy editing, no obnoxious intro. and, for once, no rumors. just a black screen with white text on it.
let's talk. ]
I know we're all here because we love our heroes, our villains, our vigilantes. They help keep us safe - or, well, most of them do. The heroes do, at least... or I thought they did. [ there's a long pause. ] I guess your girl's feeling a little responsible for all of the things that have happened over the last year. I know, I know, I'm just a girl with a microphone, but a lot of people follow me here. A lot of news gets spread, and I don't always work that hard to check my sources, y'know? It's just supposed to be entertainment.
And I've got no entertainment right now.
The only real rumors I have for you are things like, really sad stuff. Metahumans are losing their abilities. Like, all of those jerky-science guys in Excelsior that were causing such a stink? Well, it turns out they're metas. Their big old brains were a meta ability and they didn't even know it. So now they're dumb and boring like all the rest of us. So things are breaking there and it's looking really, really bad.
Apparently the dimensional portals are shutting down again, which can only mean more bad things. Magic is literally disappearing from our world, right before our eyes, and I don't know what to say about that. The Alliance is super in trouble from what I hear, congress is looking at passing a bunch of laws, and also, all those crazy cult guys are there? And, oh yeah, a killer Goddess showing up and just blasts one of our most powerful heroes and turns him into -- that?
[ you can hear the whirr of a fan behind her in the next pause. ]
I made this show because I absolutely loved the extraordinary among us. Fantastic was one of my faves, and I started blogging about all the junk he was doing as Windy Boy. And now... I- I don't even know what happened to him. And Katherine West was Chaos Gate? That feels so obvious in hindsight, but I didn't put two and two together. Now they're a star-crossed tragedy, and I don't really feel like reporting on the news.
[ her voice gets soft to the end. there's a slight sniffle. ]
But we built a great community here. And I feel like I need to do something with it, more than just rumors... Maybe I should turn legit, talk about the actual news. The cool stuff heroes do, instead of just their most embarrassing moments.
