So... A few things I've been sitting on.

First up, Who here comes from a world where superpowers are a totally normal thing, and who here knows the hero team, uh... [ a pause as he realizes that he should've probably decided on a team before opening up this post. ] "Avengers" and the term "Mutants"?

Secondly, "I was a Former Teen Hero slash child soldier slash wartime medic" and to everybody just now getting powers and thinking that its your duty to use them for other people - it's not. You didn't ask for these. Don't get yourselves killed trying to be a big shot, I've seen it way... way too many times.

[ a pause. josh runs his fingers through his hair and tips his head back, sighing. ]

Oh my god, I sound so old. Anyway, on that note... my name's Elixir. I have healing powers and I'm offering them to other metas. If you have any need of any medical care, especially like... specialized care due to meta physiology, hit me up.

It is what it is. I don't know that there's a good way for superpowers to exist, really.

Allegedly, it's on an island with no contact with humans.

That doesn't seem like it actually solves the core issue, just isolates us even further.

That's what I thought. But after everything I've seen, maybe it is actually the best way to handle things?

Where do supplies come from? Is there any kind of connection to the outside world at all? Do you stop caring about global or local events because all you have now is the incredibly insular bubble of people? How likely is it that anyone not welcome could just crash the party anyway?

I don't know. I still don't think it's the best idea. We were shoved in the public eye, but other than press conferences or interviews, we were insular, and we didn't exactly turn out great and well-adjusted.

I dunno. We've tried it a few times before, honestly, and it ended in everybody dying pretty horribly.
[ granted, he understands not everyone's problems are like mutant problems ]

Living long enough to "turn out" any kinda way that's kinda a step up from the norm where I'm from. So I think I'm just approaching the question with a different headspace.

Fair enough. I guess the one common thread is no matter what you do, there's always gonna be an asshole out there ready to ruin it.

Pretty much. At least one person always sucks that much.

[ Asking if "Five" is a name or a codename seems kind of rude, but... wait. ]

Are you one of Luther's brothers?

I am, actually. Have we met? Somewhere before here?

[He doesn't necessarily mean them, here, now. He's already talked to Laurie about how she vaguely met and knew of some other version of him, in some other world, so he's generally prepared for it.]
