What a terrible idea to elect the superhero equivalent of that animal cruelty commercial to a position of power. You know the one - it only comes on when you’re alone and uses every cheap trick to make you identify with it. It’s - what’s the word?

Cloying?

Fake?

Stupid. That’s the one. There’s a reason why Atomight, Mechanima, and Frances Starling won’t comment on this. He’s beneath them.

Why doesn’t anyone ever say it? Go anon and say it here.

[It's hard not to think back to his fight with Dick. When Danny was told him he was too young for him to take responsibility for. That he didn't want to risk him dying so young like Jason had. How the other Titans had pointed out that Dick and Jason had both been Danny's age or younger when they had signed on as sidekicks, and Dick's response of "Maybe that was a mistake, too".]

I can.

Sidekicks are one thing. Most of them get into it with some idea of what they're signing up for. But the same can't be said for all the kids that sign up for the Guilds.

They pressure everyone into joining. Hell, they even spread their propaganda in the schools! And with kids, it's the only guarantee of a possible safe home if they don't have anyone here to take them in. Those aren't 'sidekicks', they're refugees. Taking kids who didn't ask to be in this life and shoving them into it is a great way to get a lot of dead kids.

I don't believe for a second that he hasn't thought about that. But if he really hasn't, then he has no right to be in the leadership position in the first place.

Yeah. I'm aware of that. What I'm saying is that it sounds like he's willing to take even more advantage of that system.

Claiming all metas are soldiers by birthright is already fucked. Not having limits to that mentality, like say, untrained kids, is a pretty big red flag to be openly waving around.

Like, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen, even if Atomight felt that way too, he wasn't going around saying it or trying to sell it like it was a good thing.

And if that's the kind of shit Fantastic is willing to say in public, it makes me pretty anxious about what thoughts he's kept to himself.
