Well. It seems that the confluences bringing us here aren't going to be few and far between. I'd offer welcome our newcomers, but I'm not certain I have a place playing at host. I've only been finding my own feet here for some weeks. Some of you already know me as Magneto, but you can call me Erik.

[He smiles lightly and looks pleasant enough, but there's an innate sternness he can't fully quell. Also, he's not quite making proper eye contact with the camera. This is a man who has never facetimed before.]

I am curious, though. I know none of us are from this world, but I am curious how many of you arrived here to recognize...variants. Of people you thought you knew, or saw in the world itself. And I'd like to know if you were familiar with such possibilities before your arrival. I've discussed these matters with some of you already, but I wonder how common it is.

In my case, the answer is yes to both. I am from Earth, but this world is very, very different from the one I know. Better in many ways.

[He considers adding more before thinking better of it and leaving it at that.]

I'm a being of story, so the concept was not unfamiliar to me. Stories are told time and time again, and each time they have the chance to be different, even if it's only slightly so.

[So multiverse stuff is pretty unsurprising!]

There's another of me here, though we're actually both from the same world. Personally it's amusing seeing everyone else have to deal with it too.

Really. I'm well familiar with the evolution of folklore, but I've never met someone from such stories, in this or any world.

Dare I ask what it's like to interact with yourself?

It's annoying mostly. He and I have the same username so when he arrived here first, he also registered on all social media first. Which meant I had to settle for REAL Loki of Asgard instead of just Loki of Asgard.

[These are the problems faced by gods.]

Oh, it's also rather tense considering the first Loki created him in order to kill me, his reincarnation. I imagine it'd be easier if we were just ourselves from different universes.

I see how that could be highly frustrating.

Do you expect further attempts on your life in this reality?

Some people seem to know me, although I don't know any of them. Do you mean something like that?

Something like that, yes. I've met people here that I knew, and who should know me...yet in a sense we're strangers to one another.

I can't help but wonder if there's a reason for it, or a greater meaning to it.

isn't it because there are many universes out there? perhaps you met versions of them that aren't from the same world as yours? [ kaneki has been reading a bit about multiuniverses ]

Short months ago, I never would have believed that there was even one more universe than the one I lived in, much less many. But perhaps you're right.

I know what you mean. This whole situation has been... [ weird? Insane? Somewhat scary ] ...something else.

Nope. Kind of a relief, honestly.

No. Not really. It just seems like it'd be a headache.

Also a little farfetched, but I've seen a lot of strange stuff out there.

As have I. Yet this still caught me off-guard - I suppose none of us are too old to be surprised.

Oh, I'm living proof of that. I'm older than the human species and I'm surprised all the time.

I was in a world not my own before I arrived here. I met several variants of people I'd known, both native to that world and not.
Some of them are here as well. I've also been recognized by people who had no variant in my world, or at least not one I knew.

Really. Was your journey to this other world purposeful or as unexpected as our arrival here?

Entirely unexpected.
It was the result of some sort of magical accident on their side.

I've seen magic before, but none powerful enough to pierce walls between worlds. At least as far as I know.

I'm afraid I couldn't tell you much about it.
That was the first time I'd ever seen magic at all, and we didn't exactly get a chance to learn much.

[Things were, understandably, a little chaotic. The wizard, again understandably, wanted them all dead. You know how it goes.]

So I've got some various things, huh? I've met someone who is from my universe, as far as I know, but isn't from the same time I am. I've got another me, but we had met before we both came here. So that's pretty wild. Meeting him back home was kinda my introduction to the whole multiverse being real thing.

Before that, I'd met someone who claimed to be from the multiverse but he was lying about it. Nice of him, right?

[ Heavy sarcasm. ]

And I've met two people here who are, uh, variants as you say. One I knew back home but this one is different. One I knew of back home, but again, this one is different.

It's enough to give anyone a headache!

[He lets out a small, semi-disbelieving laugh.]

I see I should have opened my mind farther - and I thought it considerably widened by our presence here. But it does give me a better idea of just what impossibilities we may encounter here - thank you.

Two other mes, actually. At the same time. It was crazy. But kinda cool. And then coming to this place has been just...

[ He makes a sound like imitating an explosion. ]

Even wilder, really. The multiverse is impossible to even get your head around, man. At least for me.
