[ there's still snow melting on jon's shoulders and in his curls as he lifts a hand in greeting, a small, slightly uncertain smile on his face. evidently he's done the superman thing and either speedran the introduction to this new dimension, or else after the alliance brought the newbies to the diadem, he'd instead gone back out to help in the blizzard for a while longer. both options are equally likely. ]

Hi. [ for a moment, he looks every inch the worried seventeen-year-old he really is, but then his expression smooths, smile firming into friendly confidence. ] For those that don't know me, at home, I'm called Superman. I don't usually operate at the behest of a particular organization, but.. this isn't my dimension, I guess. [ he's probably still not signing up for a guild, considering he didn't even join the league, but.. you know. never say never. ]

Anyway, I still have a lot to pick up, since I'm a pretty new arrival, but I thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself, since I'm aware that an unexpected blue-and-red blur in the sky could be kind of alarming if you don't know what it is.

[ his other purpose with this is to check in with anyone else at home, but he doesn't want to call them out if they're in hiding. ]

.. Also, I've done a little reading about the guilds here, and I'd love to hear your opinions about them, whether you're a native inhabitant of this dimension or not. Thanks!

Sure, most people probably won't, but some might. And it doesn't hurt to be courteous. Our arrivals upset more than just our lives, after all.

[ he laughs as he accepts her hand, grip carefully human-firm as he squeezes and releases. ] Yeah, D isn't quite that paranoid, but he'd probably be hissing at me soon, too.

[ he tries to be sensitive to the various bats' quirks, but he's not a bat, and the one he knows best isn't here. ]

Honestly, I'm surprised any of us are from the same universe. [ his feet finally touch down, and he glances up at the sky, at the stars that are so similar to home. ] The last alternate dimension I was in was a pretty miserable time. Hopefully this one's better. [ he glances back at her, smile quirking back up onto his face. ] It has better company so far, at least.

[ he winces at the mention of the joker. technically, the joker shouldn't really be his priority with robin here to keep an eye out for him, but considering the vision dreamer had given him not long ago, he's.. wary. ]

I'd prefer to deal with Luthor, [ he agrees with a small sigh. it's true that they at least know what to expect from him. but the alliance? and what about this other guild?

still, there's a more pressing priority right now. ] What do I need to know to operate here? Who's around? What should I be hiding so I don't blow someone's cover? [ he gestures to himself, gripping the edge of his cape and lifting it up. ] I showed up in this, so I haven't settled on a civilian identity, or what I should hide, if anything.

No, we didn't ask to be here, but the native population didn't ask for us to be here, either.

i just mean that i've joined or wanted to join a group or two before, but not really anymore.

They've been really accommodating so far. A little surprisingly so, actually.

[She's still not used to the giant house that she and her friends are in now, even if there was some stipulations with it. ]

But well, I guess I like that better than the alternative and having all of us just running around with no guidance what-so-ever would probably make everything a mess.

So far the Alliance has been quite a bit more flexible than the organizations I've worked with where I come from. I am used to operating within that kind of structure, however.

The Alliance has been fine, for the most part. They're extremely focused on their public image in a way I find distasteful, but I don't do any of it and in large part they've still left me alone.

The Society has less oversight overall, if that's something you're concerned about. They sound like they barely monitor their members at all.

[Her assumption is that Jon is from her future, or from the future that Tim comes from, the one that is-and-isn't hers.

Once he's on solid ground, Steph leans back against the roof, getting comfortable for the moment.]

That's a bummer, about the last place. [The better company comment is sweet, though, and she looks a little amused, along with sympathetic.] This one really hasn't been too bad, yet. A lot of weird shit going on, but that's not so different than home. It's just the Guilds that're a pain in the ass.
