Soon-to-be-open speakeasy-style karaoke bar and lounge is seeking enthusiastic dedicated employees for ALL positions. The team will be handling a colorful customer base and ensure that everyone's time at our establishment is safe and enjoyable.

Schedules can be flexible. Part-time and full-time positions are available. Must be 18 or older. We welcome people from all types of backgrounds!

[It is indeed a few minutes later that Dana appears right at the door. She's dressed in what she hopes are professional-looking but sturdy clothes. She still takes a second to make sure everything is in place before knocking, somewhat hesitantly, on the door.]

[Jason had his suspicions it was Dana who texted him. Stephanie had already agreed to work at Descendant and presumably has talked to Cass or will talk to her. So he's not surprised when sees Dana after answering the door. He's dressed in paint-stained jeans, work boots, and a green t-shirt]

Hey. You're here about the ad, right?

[qualityfriend]

[She's surprised to see someone she recognizes.]

Ah, hello again. Yes, I am. Are you Jay?

[robintohood]

Yep. Nice to see you again.

[Jason steps aside to let her in. Much of the building is under renovation but even with all the construction equipment, tarps, and plastic coverings, one can tell this is going to be a bar and lounge]

I'm Dana Tan. A- a meta. From Gotham City. I'd guessed, since you advertised on Our Powers, that you don't mind having meta employees?

[robintohood]

Yup. Descendant is going to be neutral ground. Doesn't matter if you're a meta or not. Doesn't matter if you're part of a guild or not. Everyone's welcome here. You're okay with all of that?

[qualityfriend]

[She gives a small smile.]

Sounds like how I've been living. I assume you have an exception for expelling people who cause trouble?

[robintohood]

Yeah. Lots of people are welcome here but we still got rules customers have to follow. No one should be harassing staff and we'll be having an angel shot policy.

[qualityfriend]

Angel shot policy?

[robintohood]

A customer can tell us they're feeling unsafe and need help by "ordering" a certain drink. Every bar who has an angel shot policy uses different code words for those situations. Our codes haven't been set up yet.

[qualityfriend]

I'm not good at fighting, but I can help get people away quickly. Teleportation. I'm- also used to intervening when someone needs emotional support.

[robintohood]

[Jason nods attentively]

Either of those things can useful. You mind demonstrating your teleportation?

[Jason points out the metal stairs leading up to the second floor]

[She smirks and is immediately on the stairs.]

Or do you want me to fetch something from up there?

[robintohood]

[Jason barks out a laugh as he walks over to the bottom of the stairs. He's amused but makes a mental note that he might have to be wary if Dana gets too close to anything she shouldn't be involved with]

Nice. Very handy. What are your limitations with that power?

[qualityfriend]

I'm not entirely sure. At first I could only teleport to places I could see, but as I've done it more, I can teleport much farther, as long as I know where I'm headed. So I can tell you what my limitations are now, but they might not be hard limits.

[robintohood]

[Jason nods]

Keep me up to date if you find anything new but for now, that should be enough if there's an emergency.

[Though Jason hopes it doesn't have to get to that point]

Also, we wanna be good to our clients but they got rules to follow too. If any of them give you crap, you say something, okay? You don't need to put up with it and we won't be shy about kicking anyone out.

[Or kick their asses if needed]

I've always been pretty good at getting out of the way of trouble. Teleportation makes it easier.

I can also take things and people with me, if I'm touching them. I've never tried teleporting anyone fighting me, but I can probably help someone in trouble get away fast.

[robintohood]

Still handy to have around. I'm hiring security so you don't have to fight. Just getting away is enough.

[Cass can easily wipe the floor against rowdy clients anyway]

Another thing is that when I say Descendant is going to be neutral ground, that means Society members are welcomed as clients too. Maybe people who don't exactly work normal 9 to 5 jobs will come too. Are you okay with that?

[Jason doesn't want to explicatively say it but he does want Dana to have some understanding of the possible criminals she might come across if she works at Descendant]

[She does look a little concerned, but she shrugs.]

According to the guilds, as an unaffiliated, I'm even more dangerous than the Society, so I can't really object, can I?

[robintohood]

[Jason catches that]

Well, everyone's got different comfort levels and not everyone would be okay with that kind of clientele, guild member or not. Just wanna make sure you know before any decision is made.

[His tone is calm and non-judgmental. He wouldn't blame her if she wants to back out. Jason can imagine that dating Batman is stressful enough. Dealing with more criminals while working could be a lot]

I can at least give it a try, if you're willing to give me a chance. It's still sounding better than current job. [At least this would have a boss with a face who acts like he cares about employees as people.]

Would you give hazard pay?

Naturally, yeah.

[qualityfriend]

Is there anything I could start working on right away? I- kinda need the extra money.

[robintohood]

[Jason pauses to think]

Well, it won't be much at first and but things will get busier as we get close to finishing renovations. You can help us clean up the rooms as they finish and help us arrange the furniture once we get more stuff in.
