Ideally, look for a place without the corporate pr and politics, but I don't really believe in fairytales.

Though I'm afraid it wasn't much of an option for me.

[Otto thinks he'd have ducked registration, if not for the actuators making him extremely visible and identifiable as a meta at all times! He's...tired of living on the lam, honestly, it isn't a life he wants, but he doesn't feel great about the bargain he's living now either. He certainly would have strongly considered it.]

On the bright side, the Alliance has mostly stayed out of my business so far.
I've been volunteered for a few things, but nothing I minded.

They do keep bothering me to get an Instagram. Apparently I don't have enough of a social media presence for their liking.

I wonder why they're so dead set on all the social media stuff. Don't people have lives outside their phones?

I have no idea. We weren't doing this in my world - though we were also a few decades behind the current time. Maybe it was bearing down on us.

Well, they can't make me sign up for an instagram or whatever. Even if I did, I've got better things to do than broadcast news about my day to strangers online.
