I am familiar with time travel and quantum physics, though I am unsure as to what the "multiverse" refers. I am aware of the theoretical existence of alternate realities, but I believe this is my first travel to one personally.

Two outta three ain't so bad. What would you say your qualifications are, specifically? I can't say I've actively been to another dimension than my own before I showed up in this one, either, actually. But the concepts existed in theory in my world.

Before I arrived here, I was serving as a science officer on a space vessel.

Most of my knowledge of time travel is classified, however if you tell me what you may want it for, I may be inclined to share some of it.

Time travel I get. I've been studying it my whole life. It's the interdimensional part that's got me messed up. I'm trying to figure out a way home.

I see. I cannot promise how much I will be able to help you, but if you are willing to share with me what you know so far, I will attempt to see how I may assist you in this endeavor.

I am aware of certain crossover events in my own world and have secondhand knowledge of them through my sister and her crew.

I can respect that. My end of this is definitely more a need to meet you in-person thing. I'm trying to adapt the equations I used for the last big time travel trip I did to hit multidimensionally instead. The problem being, I have no idea how you measure one universe from the next. What keeps them separated? Is there a signal of some kind I need to be looking for? And how the hell do I figure out what the one for my world looks like? I definitely would like to hear more about that.

I'm familiar with the words, but not the definitions? Like my world has both time travellers and multiverse breaches and quantum physics exists. But like I can't tell you how.

While I do not have my usual scientific instruments and I do not expect to find similar technology here, I may be able to assist you in the formulation, however I suspect this will not be a short term project.

He spent a very, very long time on his own, and is not used to sharing the space or the credit, but with his brother disappearing recently, he's a little more desperate to figure this out before Allison up and vanishes on him next. It's the kind of desperation that's made him decide an extra set of eyes might not be the worst thing.]

[ Spock isn't very good at the social intricacies of humans, so he's not unhappy to have found someone who can clearly value one without dismissing him based on the other. It's an odd thing to navigate a human world without expectations set out for him pertaining to Vulcan behavior for the first time in his life. ]

this might not be helpful bc it's magic not science, but there's a guy here named Loki who seems to know a lot about the multiverse. he even says he can do a spell to tell you what universe you came from.

Which one? Aren't there like half a dozen of him around here?

Yeah, I'm pretty well-acquainted with the concept of not looking your age.

Well usually it happens because a mad scientist was messing with something. Or created something. Or someone found a grimoire. Or a spellbook--they're different things. Or an alien artifact. Or woke up with powers they couldn't control. Or it was a solar eclipse during the summer solstice while Mercury was in Retrograde. Or someone stole something from the future that was also a time machine, sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. Or a civilization was on the brink of collapse and their scientists created a breach as a last act of desperation. Or someone touched a cursed artifact in an ancient temple on a Tuesday during a thunderstorm while Jupiter was rising.

Physics is just sort of always there, except for when people have powers that can give it the middle finger.
